Nestled in the mountains of Southwest México, Oaxaca’s rocky landscape and crystalline skies create vistas and landscapes that are found nowhere else in the world. As a world-class producer of coffees, fincas throughout Oaxaca’s hillsides generate some of the finest beans in Latin America.

• Oaxaca City- The state’s capital and largest city, which is both laid back and cosmopolitan, is lined with narrow streets and colonial buildings. The vibrant art and music scene add to the active nightlife and an abundance of restaurants. Containing what some claim are the best handicrafts in the country, Oaxaca boasts innumerable markets and specialty shops that offer unique creations and an astounding range of jewelry shops.
• Valles Centrales- This collection of valleys contains an abundance of small villages and pre-Columbian ruins. While providing great opportunities for day trips, the countryside is in itself something of wonder! With one of the world’s oldest and largest trees and numerous quaint villages along the way, Oaxaca’s central valleys are indeed a must see anytime of year.
• Puerto Escondido- This exceptional area consists of numerous beaches and small towns that have been a popular spot for surfers for some time. Lined with great hotels and restaurants, you will also find numerous palapas (thatched roofs for hammocks) and personalized seafood stands.
• Sierra Norte- This heavily forested area is home to eight small Zapotec villages, forming the northern boundary of the Valle de Tlacolula. At an altitude of 2200m, the pine and oak forests provide stunning panoramic views and a rich habitat for innumerable animal species including Monarch butterflies and all six wild cats found in Mexico. Great for hiking and mountain biking, the wildflowers and well preserved forest provide an air of serenity outside of the commotion of Oaxaca City.
