Day 1: Cancun to Merida, Ek Balam

Start the weekend escape to the Yucatan with a private transfer to the stunning city of Merida, stopping en route at the ancient Maya city of Ek Balam.

Enjoy an expertly guided tour of this ancient wonder, visiting its famous acropolis, and learning about the Maya people who lived there. After, enjoy the chance to cool down with a refreshing swim in a Maya cenote.

Then, head to gorgeous Valladolid for lunch, admiring the Colonial-era architecture, and then continue to Merida. After arrival and hotel check-in, enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

Day 2: Uxmal

Journey further into the ancient Maya world with a guided tour of Uxmal. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Uxmal is one of the best restored and maintained ruins in the Yucatan and certainly one of the most impressive. Tour the site with a private guide, making sure to stop at the Pyramid of the Magician, a towering pyramid swirling in myths and legends.

In the afternoon, return to Merida to enjoy some free time before setting out on a privately guided tour of its historic city center, which ends with a short carriage ride.

Day 3: Celestun Biosphere Reserve

Today, explore the natural beauty of the Yucatan with a privately guided tour of the Celestun Biosphere Reserve, another UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On a speedy boat, navigate the winding canals of this vast mangrove and wetlands complex, stopping to see the pink flamingos who call Celestun home during the winter period.

After, continue the journey to The Lodge at Chichen Itza, a charming hotel located right next to the world-famous archeological site – the perfect place to rest before tomorrow’s exploration.

Day 4: Chichen Itza archeological site tour

Rise early to beat the crowds and see one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, Chichen Itza, before the crowds arrive.

After, take a private transfer to Cancun International Airport for onward flights home.
