Native Ritual

The indigenous communities of Mexico are as different as the geographical regions they live in.  From the Tarahumara Indians who inhabit the Copper Canyon to the Huichol Indians of western central Mexico to the modern day Maya of southern Mexico, Natives still observe traditional Mexican customs and rituals specific to the seasonal, cultural, and social values that remain remarkably true to their traditional roots.  Catholicism has been assimilated into many of these traditions to create blended ceremonies around health, life, death, seasons, family, and more. Through artwork, dances, offerings, and other acts, these native cultures preserve the customs of an ancient past in the context of a modern Mexico.
