This is the most unique museum in Guanajuato; it is a must-see because it is so unusual.
Church of San Cayetano,
Built toward the end of the colonial period in the opulent style of Mexican baroque. The interior is a dazzling affair, with gilded carvings and retablos (altarpieces). The best time to see it is midafternoon, when sunlight pours through the windows, illuminating the golden carvings.
Alley of the Kiss (Callejon del Beso)
There is a fifty-fifty chance you will get blissfully lost in the many lovely, winding and labyrinth like alleys around the alley of the kiss.
El Pípila Monument:
This is the best vantage point in Guanajuato for photographs -- the whole city unfolds below you, with great views in every direction. A funicular railway runs up the hill from behind the church of San Diego.
