ABOUT ECOTOURISM

TOWARDS A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Journey Mexico is committed to environmentally responsible travel that promotes conservation, has low negative visitor impact, and provides for beneficially active socioeconomic involvement of local populations. We are convinced that our trips can facilitate understanding and promote cooperation amongst all the participants from our clients to our guides to our gracious Mexican hosts.

We are actively working with a number of conservation and development organizations to make good on the promise of ecotourism as a catalyst for sustainable development and we invite you to learn more about our efforts to protect the pristine coasts, mountains, canyons ( see our Copper Canyon Tours) and jungles of Mexico.
In Baja California, we are working with ProPeninsula to help protect Cabo Pulmo the home of North America’s northernmost coral reef ecosystem. Contact us to learn more about our snorkeling and scuba diving trips to this coastal paradise on the Sea of Cortes.

We are also proud to partner with Propeninsula in their Sea Turtle Conservation Program. Call us to learn about our Cabo Pulmo, Magdalena Bay trips to snorkel and Scuba dive the pristine waters of the Sea of Cortes and to help monitor, tag and protect the highly endangered Leatherback Sea Turtles that nest on the Pacific shores of Magdalena Bay.

Journey Mexico is partnering with COBI and the IMAC to facilitate dialogue on the importance ecotourism plays in creating alternative economic options for the communities depending on the Sea of Cortes.

Ecotourism is increasingly being promoted as travel that does not harm local ecosystems and cultures. The United Nations declared 2002 The International Year of Ecotourism in recognition of the industry's potential to foster sustainable development.

We at Journey Mexico are committed to low impact, environmentally, culturally, and socially sensitive travel that prioritizes community participation. Our research demonstrates that supporting local businesses that protect pristine natural areas helps to ensure their sustainable future.

We have never been more aware of the need for conscious living and this extends to all aspects of our lives. Journey Mexico invites you to join us in holistic travel that positively impacts the people and places we treasure e.g our
copper canyon tours..
