Conde Nast Chooses Journey Mexico’s Founder as Top Villa Specialist in 2013

Conde Nast Villa Specialists in 2013

Condé Nast Traveler,  the world’s premier travel magazine, released their much anticipated Annual Guide to the World’s Top Villas Specialists in their March 2013 issue.  Journey Mexico is proud to announce that Founder and President, Zachary Rabinor, has been awarded the title of Top Villa Specialist for Mexico.

This thoughtfully hand-picked list is chosen by Wendy Perrin, the Director of Consumer News and Digital Community, who comments on the selection process:

For sheer peace of mind, nothing beats the voice of authority. That’s why for the past eight years, we’ve been rigorously vetting villa rental agents around the world—renting from them, accompanying them on villa inspections, interviewing them extensively, and hearing feedback from readers. Getting on our list of top villa specialists means filling out a 47-question application and sending sample house books, checklists used to evaluate properties, and at least one client reference… …Forty-one agents made this year’s cut, representing properties in all our favorite destinations—from Tuscany to Turkey’s Turquoise Coast.

Zach has earned the Villa Specialist for three consecutive years now which is not an easy task. As Perrin explains in CNT,  “Staying on this list is even tougher: It requires proving user-friendliness, conscientiousness, and honesty time and again”.  Zach is the only Villa Specialist in Mexico who has also been chosen as one of the World’s Top Travel Specialist (also by Condé Nast Traveler). What Conde Nast Traveler has to say about Zach :

Mexico resident Rabinor has assembled a carefully chosen portfolio of luxury properties all over the country, with a concentration in Puerto Vallarta and Punta de Mita. Whether at a country hacienda or a contemporary beachfront casa, you’ll find authentic Mexican style, full staff (at most properties), and information packets that offer guidance on everything from tequila tastings to turtle-nesting sites. Rabinor can also masterfully plan any local itinerary or day-trip.

Condé Nast Traveler’s Insider Mexico Tips

Condé Nast Traveler author, Wendy Perrin, recently sat down to interview one of Mexico’s Top Travel Specialist to reveal trends, tips, and suggestions you need to know when planning your Mexico vacation. It just so happens that the Condé  Nast Traveler Travel Specialist was our very own, Zachary Rabinor!

In addition to speaking about what’s new, what’s trending, and what you shouldn’t do in Mexico, Zach also commented on the important topic of safety in Mexico:

People are finally returning after several years of a hiatus to Mexico’s more cultural, wildlife and off-the-beaten-path destinations. So, I think for the past few years, while there was a lot of negative PR, negative press about Mexico, about violence in Mexico, that’s subsiding in both frequency and intensity, and so people are again, looking toward the cultural destinations in Mexico.

Mexico Travel Specialist and Expert 2012

Three years running, Journey Mexico’s President and Founder, Zach Rabinor, has been named Conde Nast Traveler’s Top Travel Specialist for Mexico!

Zach has been guiding and developing incredibly special and unique experiences throughout Mexico for many discerning travelers. He hand-picked and continuously perfects our Journey Mexico portfolio of private villas, luxury hotels, extravagant transportation and quality tours.  His knowledge and expertise of Mexico has warranted him recognition as not only a Top Travel Specialist in Conde Nast Traveler’s prestigious 13th Annual Travel Specialists List but also as a Conde Nast Traveler Villa Specialist.

Wendy Perrin’s Top Travel Specialists in Condé Nast Traveler is a  distinction that only 133 travel professionals from around the world have been awarded this year. This title guarantees that you’re working with an expert who knows your destination inside and out. A specialist is someone with the ability to score  rooms with the best views, provide the savviest English-speaking guides,  free upgrades,  special access and ultimately, who will produce the maximum experience for your travel dollar.

Conde Nast Traveler writes, “Puerto Vallarta–based Rabinor is constantly keeping up with the newest hotels and maintaining connections that can translate into a private visit to Chichén Itzá, the chef’s table at Oaxaca’s top restaurant, a tour of Teotihuacán with an archaeologist, or a swim in a private cenote. A surfer, Rabinor is well versed in Mexico’s best beaches and breaks, but his passion is planning inland pursuits—he’ll have you hiking the spectacular Copper Canyon and lunching with local artisans.”

To take the guesswork out of planning the next trip to Mexico for you or your clients, let Zach and Journey Mexico arrange everything right down to the smallest detail!

Zach Rabinor: Conde Nast Travel’s Top Pick for Mexico Again this Year!

Zach RabinorWe all knew that Zach Rabinor, President of Journey Mexico, was the best person to talk to about all things South of the Border, but Conde Nast Traveler just made it official! He has been named the Conde Nast Travel Specialist for Mexico again this year. If you’ve been dreaming of leaving the cold behind and heading to Mexico for an exciting cultural sojourn, Zach’s years of experience as a guide leveraged into Mexico’s leading Travel Company Journey Mexico makes him unique in his knowledge of his adopted home. He’ll make sure you get the very most from your vacation time.

Zach Rabinor Conde Nast Top Travel Specialist 2011Is a Travel Specialist Really that Big of a Deal?
Actually, it is. Every year, about 10,000 travel agents and tour operators vie for this honor, but only 133 make the list. Instead of picking someone who has never stepped foot on foreign soil, this title guarantees that you’re working with a bona fide expert who knows your destination inside and out. In fact, Travel Specialists know the area even better than the locals. If you’re looking for a dream vacation in Mexico, something enriching and culturally exciting, this is the way to go!

How was Zach Chosen?
First of all, Zach doesn’t just sit in his office and page through travel guides; he lives and breathes Mexico! Based in Puerto Vallarta, Zach personally tours the country’s best hotels and resorts while making the connections that mean all the difference to his clients.

If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience like touring the Teotihuacan ruins with an actual archeologist or impressing your guests with a gourmet dinner at the chef’s table in the best restaurant in Oaxaca when no one else can even get a reservation, Zach can make the arrangements. An avid surfer and hiker, Zach can not only help you plan the best coastal and inland activities, he can give you some first-hand tips to make your trip even more enjoyable!

Zach Rabinor Conde Nast Villa Specialist 2011Zach Rabinor – the CNT Villa Specialist
A luxury villa in a secluded area is the best way to get away from it all and enjoy an authentic Mexican experience. Although a top-rated resort can be a lot of fun, it doesn’t come close to the peaceful setting of a home surrounded by private grounds where you can really let your hair down. However, choosing a property based on virtual tours and pamphlets alone is risky. Zach is the only Mexico Travel Specialist who is also the CNT Villa Specialist! He can easily narrow down your choices based on your interests and give you the scoop on the villa’s amenities and the surrounding area.

To take the guesswork out of planning the next trip to Mexico for you or your clients, let Zach and Journey Mexico arrange everything right down to the smallest detail!

Pushing Mexico Forward

Mexico: The Place You Thought You KnewEarlier this year, the tourism board of Mexico launched a five month, $32 million ad campaign in North America under the slogan: “Mexico: The Place You Thought You Knew.” The campaign, which is still running, promotes the cultural destinations of Mexico and is intended to re-brand Mexico as more than just a “sun-and-sand” vacation destination.

According to an article published in the Dallas News on Monday, The Place You Thought You Knew campaign along with recent coverage in several major travel publications seems to be paying off. Tourism to Mexico grew 27.5 percent in July of 2010 over July of 2009. August also saw an increase in international air travel to Mexico of 6 percent over August of 2009.

Mexico's Moments

Pullout Guide to Mexico

Travel Weekly quotes the Mexican Tourism Board as saying that “the goal is to simultaneously double arrivals and triple earnings, growing by double-digit percentages annually over the next eight years. The growth goal for 2010 alone is 20%…We have a very specific goal in mind: We want to take Mexico into the top five [travel destinations] by 2018.”

Journey Mexico has been excited to work with the Mexican Tourism Board and other organizations and publications to collaborate on ways to promote the culturally rich travel destinations of Mexico. Recently, Conde Nast Traveler features a 16-page pullout guide to Mexico for their Oct. 2010 issue, which is currently in news stands and is an excellent resource for those interested in unique cultural, natural, adventure and luxury travel experiences through Mexico. You can find Journey Mexico mentions on pages B4 and B12 of the pullout.

Journey Mexico Partner Properties on Conde Nast 2010 List

Two of our partner properties, The Banyan Tree Mayakoba and the Saint Regis Mexico City, both made Conde Nast Traveler’s “Hot List Hotels” for 2010.

The Banyan Tree is an incredible experience in exotic luxury with its Asian style villas, Thai trained masseuses, and Thai kitchen staff. Each villa offers its own private pool, and the staff members actually remove their shoes before entering your villa to wait on you. This award is an addition to the 300+ they’ve received since 2006.

The Saint Regis Mexico City, aside from being a stunning 189-room tower of class, was this year’s host for the Virtuoso Symposium, in which Journey Mexico was thrilled to be involved. The event was a huge success as is shown in the list of tweets to come out of Mexico City.
